Winch Design are an elite yacht, aviation, interiors and architecture design business.The Sleeve is made from Colorplan Sapphire Blue which is copper foil blocked, wrapped and lined over 2500 micron greyboard.

The Cousin HK team sourced a silk loop ribbon to match the blue, so the Divisional brochures can be removed. The cover of each Divisional brochure uses a different shade of Colorplan, and our challenge was to find a way to print imagery onto these colours. We tested an embossed panel with printed tip in, but the finish was not clean or precise enough to reflect the exacting standards at Winch.
The solution was to digitally print 5 solid panels of opaque white to create a base, and then digitally print the 4 colour images on top. The brochures are thread sewn with copper foil blocking, and printed in 4 colour process with two special colours and a sealer varnish to protect against marking. The special colours are bespoke ink mixes to match the Colorplan cover shades.
